I love to cook and bake! It’s like my little hobby and sadly my ass can testify on that. I was once at a baby shower for one of my relatives at that time I could care less about babies. If I recall my mom dragged me to the shower because that’s just what family does, we’re there for each other no matter how boring it is.

On the plus side, one of our close family friends was there. Her name was Wanda and let me tell you she can bake! She makes the best short bread cookies and once she gave us the recipe I was so excited to try it. Ever since then I have made these cookies plenty of times. My whole family loves them and I’m sure you will too. So I’m going to share Wanda’s delicious recipe with you and here’s what you’ll need.

1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour

1/2 cup sifted icing sugar

1/4 cup cornstarch

1 cup butter

  1. Let butter stand at room temperature until soft.
  2. Mix flour, cornstarch and icing sugar together.
  3. Then gradually add the soft butter into the mix
  4. When blended, beat on high speed until mixture is fluffy.
  5. Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes in preheated oven at 325 degrees until cookies are just set and very slightly browned around the edges.

Now for the icing you can just buy the Betty Crocker creamy deluxe vanilla frosting or you can make the one I make.

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened at room temperature

1 teaspoons vanilla extract.

1 cups of icing sugar

1 tablespoon of milk

3 drops of food coloring

  1. Mix the butter until smooth and fluffy. Gradually beat in icing sugar until fully incorporated.
  2. Beat in vanilla extract.
  3. Pour in milk and beat for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add food coloring, if using, and beat for thirty seconds until smooth or until desired color is reached.

This cookies are very simple and easy to make. I’m sure you even have all the ingredients in your pantry. Hope you enjoy them because they sure are delicious.

I will be sharing with you some of my healthier recipes soon so don’t worry not everything that I will be sharing will be sugary and delicious but nevertheless they will still be delicious.
