    Wine O’Clock Yet?

Has anyone ever told you how messy one child can be? Seriously how many crumbs can a child spill on the floor, do they have holes on the side of their mouths? I spend so much time cleaning my floors and it still looks like I never did anything. Momlife at its finest. I think the phrase wine o’clock was definitely invented by a mom. By the time you reach 5pm you are so exhausted and in need of a break. Some days just that quiet moment with a glass of wine and a show other than paw patrol is what I live for. Some days repeating yourself and disciplining…

Maybe Today is not Great But Tomorrow is a New Day

Hello my lovies! I haven’t posted anything in months but this momma needs a space where she can release stress or even just talk to herself about life because that is how crazy I am. My little girl turned 4 this year – I cannot believe that I’m the mom to a child. Not a baby but a full blown child! How, when and where did the time go? I feel like just yesterday she was  snuggled into me when she was a newborn. Now she is this independant, sassy, and beautiful little girl with such a kind heart. The older lily gets the harder I find it to be…

Ways to deal with a toddler who is having a tantrum

Hello everyone, This week I thought I would touch on tantrums. Lots of people ask me if Lily went through the terrible twos or if she tantrums etc. I think the first place we need to start is by understanding why kids have tantrums , melt downs or misbehave. I find that if my child is having communications diffuclties and im not understanding or responding to what she needs she gets frustated. Completely understandable because if someone is not listening or understanding what i want as an adult i find myself getting frustrated and upset. so Just like us , kids feel the same way and tend to express their…

    Thanksgiving

Hello Everyone! Happy thanksgiving for all my Canadian friends. This Thanksgiving will be our first holiday in our new home. Making memories one step at a time.I try to be thankful for opportunities we have but sometimes we get so caught in the everyday things that we forget to give thanks for the things we are privileged to have. One thing im trying to teach lily is to be thankful for the things we have. We took place in a toy drive at Lily’s daycare which helped her learn that other kids might not have the things that she has. Its good to learn how to be compassionate and to learn…

Three going on Thirteen – Oh boy!

Hello Everyone, Today I’m going to tell you my battle with my 3 year old who acts like she is 13. I remember everyone telling me how terrible the terrible twos where but I never experienced that with Lily. She didn’t behave any different than she did when she was one; other then speaking and doing more things. No one prepared me for the teenage attitude that comes with turning 3. Sometimes I have to question whether my little one skipped a few years.  I feel like she still needs me but then turn around and she’s miss independent not wanting anything to do with me. When I say teenage attitude, I …

Struggles of being a young single mom

Hello Everyone, Today I’m going to share some of the struggles that you deal with being a single parent. I do love being a single mom and I love my little one but sometimes it gets to be too much.  I know a lot of young people don’t get what its like to be a single parent. People my age are just finishing university, starting out in a new career, and maybe still deciding what to do with their . Life as a young single mom teaches you that you have to grow up fast and be the best version of yourself as quick as possible. Sometimes I feel like…

    2018-05-08

Hello Everyone, I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted but it’s been a crazy last couple of months. I’ve being trying to adjust to a new life and to our new home.  I thought I would try to keep posting not because I think anyone really cares but because it’s a good place to keep a public diary for myself. I know people tend to express the best parts of their lives on the internet and on social media but I’m going to keep it raw and real. Most of our life is not a glam show or some reality tv show .Most of our lives are boring, repetitive,…

    Adjusting to a new normal

Hello everyone, I hope everyone week has been fabulous. Our week has been a little rough. Lily has pneumonia and its been a hard go. I have a new understanding and sympathy towards mothers whose kids have asthma. It’s no fun trying to teach a 2 year old how to use an inhaler. The good news is that she is on the mend and soon enough she will be back to normal. It’s been 2 weeks now since we have moved into our new home. The boxes are pretty much all unpacked, furniture has been built and set in the appropriate spaces. The only thing left to do is decorate;…

    Why Is Change So Hard

Hi everyone, This week has been a whirlwind of emotions, cross roads, and hard decisions. Not to be over the top and all; but it seems like my life can be rather dramatic. It seems everything happens all at once but then again that seems to be everyone’s life. So I guess I shouldn’t be complaining about that since we are all on the same boat. One big life update that happened this week is that we have officially signed up Lily for daycare. It was a happy and sad decision but in the long run it will be good for her. I’m sad that I have to put her…
